So, it was another great night of music at open mic at Plain Folk Cafe and the last of us stragglers were just about on our way out. A song that we had heard Josiah (the open mic host) sing before was stuck in my head and we asked him about the name of it for future reference. Without hesitation, this young man replied, "You referred to it by name - you have to hear it!" Keep in mind, it is late, he has a very long drive home, and there are exactly three of us standing there. This amazing story teller then opens up his guitar case, pulls out his guitar, and pours out his heart for this tiny little audience with all of the energy and emotion of a sold out concert. At that point, it was so much more than just a late night song by a talented musician. Josiah had shared his passion for music and people with us and created one of those rare, magical moments in life. Thank you, Josiah Whitley, for being that guy and sharing with us!
